St Aidan’s Advocacy Group (STAAG)

STAAG is an advocacy group within St Aidans Services that champions the principle of ‘nothing about us without us’. It empowers individuals to assert their rights and influence the services they receive.

STAAG’s mission is: Thread Softly. Stand Strong and the Emblem is a Stag.

  • STAAG provides a platform for service users to voice their choices and defend their rights. This is done through Speak up meetings that are held within services, STAAG Tea and Talk events within day service which provides an opportunity for engagement and a strong link to the Board of Directors to ensure effective collaboration from the top down.
  • The group connects with organizational, local, and national bodies to impact societal-level service delivery. This is evident through the development of the SLM – Social Lives Matter Evening Service Initiative.
  • Members are enabled to express their views, understand their rights, participate meaningfully, and influence decisions within St Aidan’s Services and the wider community.
